Plant-based Ribs & BBQ Sauce

RIBS – plantbased of course! You didn’t think it was possible?  Think again!  It is not only possible, it is delicious! Let’s get into it!

ingredientsRibs Ingredients:

2 Cups Vital Wheat Gluten (follow directions, but usually requires 2 cups of water)

1/3 Cup Nutritional Yeast

2Tbsp Peanut Butter

1Tbsp Paprika

1 Tbsp Salt

1TBSP Soy Sauce

1/4 Cup of Oil

1 Large Medium Onion

lightly oiled baking sheet

ingredientsCombine all ingredients in a bowl except onions and oil. Chop onion and saute in oil. Then pour hot oil over all dry ingredients mixing with your hands.  It should become stringy and you can shape in the ribs.  Place on oiled baking sheet and bake at 375 for 50 minutes.  Pour on BBQ Sauce and bake for another 10.  Serve!

ribsRibs, BBQ Sauce:

1 Medium Onion, Chopped

5 cloves of garlic (medium)

1/4 Cup of Oil

2 1/2 Cups of Tomato Sauce

1/4 Cup of Water

1/2 Cup of Brown Sugar

1Tbsp Molasses

1/4 Cup Dijon Mustard

1/4 Cup Yellow Mustard

1tsp Salt

1tsp AllSpice

2 tsp Crushed red Pepper

2Tbps Parsely

Chop and Saute onions and garlic.  When ready, add to all other ingredients in a pan and cook over slow heat for  1 hour.
